oh really, thats nice of you to say so, thank you

now your in a new film called how do you know, it's not out until December, why promote it so early

JACK
well we figured that because it's out in December and we want it to be a christmas blockbuster which isn't easy to do, so we're trying to get it to peoples attention early so that it get's in there head so they can spread the word, prepare for it because the longer we get this film to stay in there head before it is actually released, the more the people will see it hopefully.

sounds pretty good, seems you're quite serious about makeing this movie a hit

JACK
yeah we're all doing different things to get the audience to see this picture

Now in this you play a farther of someone in this don't you

JACK
yeah I play charles who is georges farther, played by Paul rudd and charles looks out for George,
tells him whats going to happen to him in some parts of the movie and trys to cheer him up cause he does do some stupid things

ha ha. it's a romance comedy it also stars owen wilson and reese witherspoon, tell me more about who they play

JACK
well to begin with there together in the movie, Owen plays a major league baseball player and Reese plays a softball player

alright that's partly why there together

JACK
yeah thats the main thing they have in common and later on they break up due to the one of the stupid things that in the movie my son does, is he meets a girlfriend of his which he hasn't met in a long time, there suprised to see each other and she invites him back to her apartment, then while they're there manny walks in

is that who owen wilson plays

JACK
yeah and he's not happy when he sees another guy in his apartment and that's when they break up

OK sounds good, it's a romance comedy

JACK
yeah

is it fun doing comedy

JACK
it is I find it's a good genre to do at my age cause there's only certain roles I can play now

it's quite a relaxed role in this

JACK
it is, I enjoy it though because it suits to the fact that I'm slowing down

would you like to do one a romcom again

JACK
I don't know, havent really thought about it. I'll wait and see what comes my way

This new film your starring in is a romantic comedy, tell us what the storyline is about

JACK
it's basically a love triangle, two men fancy the same girl who is a proffesional softball player, one of the men is a major league pitcher and the other is a corporate executive

who plays who in the film

JACK
reese witherspoon characters name is Lisa and she's a proffesional softball player, Owen wilson plays a guy called Manny and he's a majour league pitcher, paul rudd is george in the film and he's a corporate exectutive and I play his dad who's a person who likes to let his son know what to be prepared for and in some parts of the film trys to talk some sense to him in some parts of the film.

what was it like to play that character

JACK
it was more layed back than most of my other films, when you get to my ege there's only certain charcters which you can play and the other disadvantage of it is the characters can be quite boring, not to play obviously thats the fun part, but just the description where you don't actually sound like your not going to do much in the film but I had fun making it.

You've been in romantic comedies before, in this do you play a funny person or are you careing

JACK
in some parts of the movie i'm funny, mostly caring though towards the son I have udring the film.

would you like to do another romantic comedy film or play play the same character again

JACK
I wouldn't mind although at some point I would like to make a change beacuse it can get boring being the same genre film playing the same kind of character, you know, in order to enjoy this job it's more fun and exiting to play different charcters in different genres film

well i'm at an age now where I can only play certain charcaters

well the type that doesn't envolve me doing much

an old man with a walking stick

yeah i think thats most them

what, so you would have a walking stick would you play an old man with a walking frame as well

yeah I wouldn't mind playing that

or what about an electric wheel chair or electronic scooters

then that would make my job a whole lot easier

oh' no

well in the past there are some directors that I havent got on well with and if I was to become a director there would be a lot more arguments going on the set.

er, I'm not going to say incase there watching but they should know

no, no, no if there is an argument we usually kiss and make up

no, otherwise if we didn't the film would never get made and it would be even worse than that if i was directing

No, I started as an actor and have had suprisingly great success

wo what do you mean suprisingly your one of the greatest actors who ever lived and still are

oh thank you. I remain to stay an actor for the rest of my life
